DIRECTIONS:

First you will need to purchase a can of butane from Walgreens, CVS, or the gas station, etc.  

Turn lighter upside down to where you can see the small hole (for butane). Take your can of butane and turn it upside down so that the needle is pointing towards the floor. Push the needle into the lighter for 30-45 sec.  You can adjust the flame by rotating the black dial at the bottom of the lighter.
